The objective for this project is to provide a positive reflection on the freedom of hookup culture by viewing it through the eyes of renaissance art. The renaissance era; 1300 - 1700, was a time where love, lust and sex was accepted as a post marital object and ‘casual’ encounters were condemned. My target audience are young adults between the ages of 18-25. This age group dominates the genre of leading apps such as Tinder and Bumble; apps which are known for their ease in finding hookups and casual encounters. As a designer my intentions were to create something away from screen - a place where everything can be swiped away, ignored, edited or deleted. I wanted something physical, something tactile. I have used familiar design elements from popular apps to tell the story of one mans experience within modern day ‘Hookup Culture’ to visualise his journey.
